Back then, I was clueless. Looking back, that “business” feels like a completely different world. I was stuck in the employee mindset, all about pleasing clients instead of building a sustainable empire.
I’m forever grateful for my first client, but if I could rewind, I’d flip a major switch in myself and my business way sooner. Four years of not taking the reins? Yikes! My bank account definitely felt the burn.

Sure, I had dollar signs in my eyes, but a solid business plan? Zero. For years, I aimed for financial success without a clear roadmap. It was like driving without a GPS – I knew where I wanted to go, but I had no idea how to get there.
Finally, in 2021, I decided to take control. I sat down and outlined all my goals, both short-term and long-term. I dreamed big, setting ambitious targets for income, clientele, and personal growth. But I also included smaller, achievable steps to build momentum.
Creating this comprehensive business plan was a game-changer. It provided the focus and direction I desperately needed. I could visualize my path forward, and I felt empowered to take proactive steps to achieve my objectives.

#2 – Investing in Myself was My Biggest Money-Maker
I quickly realized that with four years of serving clients yet still needing a sustainable income, I was drowning. It was clear I needed expert guidance to transform my struggling business into a thriving enterprise. That’s when I found a business coach who had walked in my shoes. I fell into the trap of inconsistent posting, which created an unpredictable and unreliable brand image. It was a vicious cycle: a burst of activity followed by periods of silence. This erratic behavior alienated potential clients and hindered my ability to build a loyal following.
Overcoming this challenge required discipline and commitment. I learned that consistent content creation is an investment in the future of my business. Even when I’m swamped with client work, I prioritize scheduling posts and creating valuable content. The payoff is significant: increased visibility, stronger relationships with my audience, and ultimately, more opportunities for growth.
#6 – Nurture My Audience Like a Pro:
Building a loyal audience is like striking gold. It’s a valuable asset that can significantly impact your business’s stability and growth. But simply accumulating followers isn’t enough. You must nurture those connections to transform casual fans into dedicated customers.
I focused on providing consistent value through weekly newsletters and engaging community-building activities within my Facebook group. These touchpoints were essential for building trust, rapport, and credibility. By consistently delivering valuable content and fostering a sense of community, I transformed casual followers into raving fans eager to support my business.
Remember, it’s never too early to start nurturing your audience. Whether you have a handful of subscribers or thousands, focus on building genuine connections. Consistent engagement will lay the foundation for long-term success.
