Correction I took my talents to Pinterest.

If you are from Ohio or an NBA fan, you likely know the Lebron James reference that this post title is all about. But how the heck does it apply to my deciding to start marketing my branding & web design business on Pinterest?  Well just like Lebron thinking long and hard about leaving the Cavs I spent a lot of time thinking about how I was going to expand my marketing efforts in 2023.

My Marketing Backstory

In 2022, I set out to grow my email list & Facebook group. It was my sole focus! I posted a few times a week on Instagram & my Business Facebook page but it was low on the totem pole of priorities. I was also spending way more time creating quality content such as free masterclasses, paid courses, and informative social media posts. I completely rebranded and even redesigned my entire website. By the end of the year, everything was falling into place. I was thrilled with the growth of my email list & Facebook group. I loved the vibe & quality of all of the content I was putting out there. But I also knew my next focus would be to try to get it in front of as many people as possible.

Why Pinterest?

I am a lazy marketer. There I said it!  I make content all day for my clients. Logos one day, marketing graphics the next, websites or sales funnels the following. I love it don’t get me wrong, but when it comes to wanting to do it even more for my business my motivation level is like a 1 out of 10 at best. So when I knew I needed to expand my marketing efforts, I wanted the biggest bang for my buck and I knew I did NOT want to be making TikToks all day. I am too much of a perfectionist and frankly do not have the time to sit around making videos.  So when I thought about how I wanted to drive more clicks to not only my website which has been decked out as a centralized hub for my portfolio and services but also to my Facebook group, free resources, and trainings, Pinterest was that perfect fit.

With over 400 million active users worldwide, Pinterest is a great platform for small business owners to showcase their products and services and attract potential clients. Here are some of the reasons that Pinterest won me over and why you should start Pinterest marketing too! But before I dive into them, if you could give me a follow over there, I will totally return the favor.

#1 – High Engagement & Conversion Rates:

Pinterest has a highly engaged user base that actively seeks inspiration and ideas. According to a survey by Hootsuite, 93% of Pinterest users use the platform to plan or make purchases. This means that users are more likely to engage with and convert from business accounts on Pinterest.

#2 – Easy Product Discovery:

Pinterest is a platform that encourages users to browse and discover new products and services. So we can showcase our products and services, and attract potential customers who are interested in what we have to offer.

#3 – Increased Brand Awareness:

Pinterest is a great platform for building brand awareness and establishing our businesses as a thought leader in our niches. By creating boards that showcase our products or services, we can increase your visibility and attract new followers.

#4 – Longterm Marketing Strategy:

Pinterest is a platform that offers long-term marketing benefits. Pins have a long lifespan and can continue to drive traffic and conversions to your website for months or even years after they are initially posted. This means that as small business owners we can benefit from a single pin for a long time! #lazymarketingatitsprime

#5 – SEO Benefits:

Pinterest is also a great platform for improving our website’s search engine optimization (SEO). By including keywords in our pins and boards, we can increase the likelihood of our website appearing in search engine results pages (SERPs).

In conclusion:

Pinterest is a valuable marketing tool for small business owners like you and I,  who want to increase our brand awareness, drive traffic to our website, and attract potential customers. By creating visually appealing pins and boards, targeting the right audience, and leveraging the platform’s long-term benefits, we can achieve our marketing goals and grow our businesses!

I am so excited to be starting on this Pinterest journey! I have already seen some amazing growth and it has only been a month! I decided to fast-track my results by learning from the Pinterest Queen herself, Jen Vazquez, and I can’t wait to see where the platform takes me!
